How Much Does a Dead Sea Day Trip from Amman Cost?
Dead Sea day trips from Amman cost from $26 per person for a car and driver, or $67 with a resort day and lunch included. Here is what each price covers, what you pay on top, and when a dearer tour makes sense.
A Dead Sea day trip from Amman starts from $26 per person for a car, a driver and stops at Madaba, Mount Nebo and the Baptism Site on the way down. With a 5-star resort day and lunch included in the price, tours cost from $67. Most of the difference between two tours is what happens once you reach the shore.
What the prices mean
- A good all-round choice: the Dead Sea, Mount Nebo, Madaba and Baptism Site tour, from $26 per person and rated 4.8/5 from more than 400 reviews.
- The resort day is the biggest extra. A resort day with lunch included costs about the same as a private car that only drops you at the shore.
- Entry to the three sites comes to about 18 JD ($25) per person, and on most tours you pay it yourself or add it at checkout.
- A full day with the stops, the entry fees and a resort comes to roughly $80 to $100 per person, whether you add the extras or book them together.
- Every price here is per person. At the starting price, four people on the $26 tour pay $104 between them.

Where we’d start
Al Amal’s $26 tour has the lowest regular price of the full days that reach all four stops, and more reviews than any other Dead Sea day trip from Amman. In October 2026 it was on sale at $18. The base price covers the car, an English-speaking driver, water and Wi-Fi. Entry fees and a resort swim with lunch are options at checkout, and there is no local guide. Our review of the tour covers how the day runs.
It suits you if you are happy to walk round Madaba and Mount Nebo on your own. It is poor value if you expect a guide at each stop.
Other tours to compare
If you mainly want the resort
The 5-star resort day trip with lunch costs from $67, and was on sale at $61 in October 2026. Resort access, the Dead Sea, a lunch buffet and the transport are all in that price, and it is rated 5.0/5 from 43 reviews. It does not list the Madaba and Mount Nebo stops. For comparison, R&H’s private Dead Sea day with optional entry fees and lunch is $65 for the car alone, rated 4.7/5 from 159 reviews.
Entry fees and lunch paid in advance
Jordan Visit’s Madaba, Mount Nebo and Dead Sea day tour is priced from $78 and includes the resort, a buffet lunch, entry to Mount Nebo and to St George’s and St John’s churches in Madaba. It is the closest thing to a fixed all-in price on this route, although the Baptism Site is not on it and it has only 13 reviews so far, rated 4.9/5.
If there are several of you
R&H’s Madaba, Mount Nebo, Baptism Site and Dead Sea tour runs the same four stops by private car from $49 per person, rated 4.9/5 from more than 100 reviews. Entry fees and the resort are options, as on the $26 tour. With your own car you can stay longer at the stops you care about.
A shorter day
A half day suits you if you already have plans in Amman. North Amman Tourism’s half-day Dead Sea, Pink Lake and Crystal Beach tour costs from $66, rated 4.9/5 from 40 reviews, with the resort swim, lunch and a towel included if you choose the all-inclusive option. Our half day vs full day comparison explains why the time at the water is much the same either way.
What a higher price adds
Mostly the resort and the entry fees. The drive, the hotel pickup and the English-speaking driver come with every trip in the table below, and so does free cancellation up to 24 hours before. Most tours list no site guide at any price.
Around $26 to $50: a car, a driver and the stops. You decide at checkout whether to add the entry fees and a resort day. Jordan Lux’s Madaba, Mount Nebo and Dead Sea or Baptism Site tour, from $49 and on sale at $37 in October 2026, is the cheapest listing here that marks a live tour guide, rated 5.0/5 from 55 reviews.
Around $60 to $80: tours that include the resort and lunch. The resort day trip is the best-reviewed example. Camel Taxi’s private Madaba, Mount Nebo, Baptism Site and Dead Sea day, from $70, adds the three sightseeing stops by private car, with entry fees still extra. It has 11 reviews, all five stars.
Above $100: a private half day, or a different activity. Zaid Tours’ private half day to the Dead Sea is $127, rated 4.5/5 from 42 reviews, and Wadi Mujib trips cost from about $140.
On the four-stop days the Dead Sea comes last, after Madaba, Mount Nebo and the Baptism Site. If the water matters most to you, a resort-only trip gives you most of the afternoon there.

What you pay on top of the tour price
Jordan’s tourism board lists the Baptism Site at 12 JD ($17) for foreign visitors and Mount Nebo at 3 JD ($4). Reviewers in 2025 reported paying 3 JD ($4) at St George’s Church in Madaba, home of the mosaic map. That makes about 18 JD ($25) per person for the three stops, in cash, unless your tour includes them. If you hold a Jordan Pass, check what it covers first: one reviewer found that most of these stops are not on it.
The resort is the larger cost. Reviewers who paid at the gate reported between about 25 and 50 JD ($35 to $71) per person, depending on the resort and whether lunch was included. Travco sells a 5-star hotel day pass with lunch, towels and lockers from $40 without transport, although it has no reviews yet. The public Dead Sea Tourist Beach currently lists 10 JD ($14) for foreign visitors, with fewer facilities.
Added up, the $26 tour with the three entry fees and a $40 day pass comes to about $91 per person. The $70 Camel Taxi day with the entry fees added comes to $95. The $78 Jordan Visit tour already covers its resort, lunch and entry fees, but leaves out the Baptism Site. Dinar figures are converted at Jordan’s fixed rate of 1 JOD = $1.41.
Tours that offer less for the price
A few listings cost more than a better-reviewed tour on the same route:
- The Dead Sea Full-Day Tour from Amman costs $90 and has a single review, rated 1 out of 5. R&H’s private Dead Sea day is $65 and has 159 reviews.
- One half-day tour to the Dead Sea and Crystal Beach costs $86 and is rated 3.5/5 from just 3 reviews, while a tour under the same name from another operator costs $76, rated 5.0/5 from 13.
- The Baptism Site and Dead Sea day trip costs $200 and has no reviews. R&H’s private Baptism Site and Dead Sea tour covers the same two places from $75, rated 4.9/5 from 81.
Private car or shared seat?
Every Dead Sea day trip in the table is priced per person, including the ones sold as a private car, so enter the size of your group to see the total. At the starting price, two people on the $26 tour pay $52 and four pay $104. On the $67 resort day trip, two pay $134 and four pay $268, with lunch and the resort for everyone.
Several of the cheapest listings, the $26 Al Amal tour among them, offer a private car as an option on the same booking, at a higher price. A few listings price the whole car for up to three people, such as the Dead Sea full-day trip with scenic stops at $136 for the car, but they have only one or two reviews each.
Longer days: Petra, Wadi Mujib and two-day trips
Camel Taxi’s Petra and Dead Sea private day tour costs from $70, rated 5.0/5 from more than 160 reviews, with the resort and lunch included. The Petra ticket is extra: 50 JD ($71) for visitors staying overnight in Jordan, so plan on about $141 per person. Our Petra and Dead Sea page compares the other one-day versions.
For Wadi Mujib, Zaid Tours' private Siq Trail hiking tour is $147, rated 4.9/5 from 36 reviews, with the trail entry included, although it does not list time at a Dead Sea beach. Walk and Hike’s Wadi Mujib and Dead Sea tour is cheaper, at $139, but the Siq Trail fee of 21 JD plus 16% tax ($34) is extra and it is rated 4.4/5 from 15 reviews. The trail is open from April 1 to October 31, weather permitting; see our Wadi Mujib page.
Over two days, the Petra, Wadi Rum and Dead Sea 2-day tour costs from $205, rated 4.9/5 from more than 250 reviews, and the Jordan Private Tours 2-day trip costs from $275, rated 4.9/5 from more than 1,500. On the second, the listing puts Petra and Wadi Rum entry and the Dead Sea resort outside the price. Our Petra, Wadi Rum and Dead Sea page covers them.
Is it worth paying more?
Pay more if you want a fixed price with the resort and lunch sorted before you leave Amman, or a private car you can keep at the stops you care about. If you are happy to pay the entry fees in cash and choose your own beach, the $26 tour covers the same four places, and the extras you add come to roughly what the dearer tours charge.
